GRT Building Services was formed in 1986 by Gary Tyler.
I left school in 1984 and after passing an ‘O’ level grade 1 in woodcraft, I knew that I should follow into a career as a tradesman..
I then went to Guildford Technical College where I decided to train as a bricklayer. Whilst completing a two year course I worked with a small building company in Egham, Surrey. During this time I worked as a labourer, gaining valuable experience in the building industry. I passed Advanced Craft City and Guilds in 1986.
It was at this time that I knew I wanted to work for myself so formed G R Tyler Building Services. I met with a property developer who wanted someone to complete flat conversions in London. Although young, I was confident and employed many trades to successfully complete many conversions into the early 90’s.
When the property development industry crashed, I then began home extensions and high quality building work. Word of my good service spread and I was approached by a company that owned land in Chertsey, Surrey and I was commissioned as a project manager to construct seven new six bedroom homes in a private gated development.
In 2010 I moved to Barton under Needwood and since then have been specialising in smaller projects, especially kitchen and bathroom installations and refurbishments along with joinery services.
Using my years of experience, I can offer a full design service for any job and you will find me friendly, honest, reliable and professional in all my work.
